The One Big Beautiful Bill Act (OBBBA), enacted amid rising U.S. fiscal pressure, shifts federal priorities by redirecting spending away from clean energy and medicaid cover to incentives toward defense, tax relief, and support for domestic manufacturing. In the short term, the rollback of renewable energy credits and electric vehicle incentives will dampen capital expenditures and delay project pipelines in solar, wind, and renewable energy sectors, while benefiting national security and traditional automobile industry. Over the long term, the Act could moderate the growth of the economy owing to the tax cuts, increased spending on border security and defense. These challenges could impede other vital sectors of the economy, from public infrastructure and healthcare to advanced research.
