The global aircraft MRO industry is benefiting from persistent aircraft supply constraints, an ageing fleet, and rising utilization, which is sustaining demand for maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. However, the next incremental opportunity is increasingly geographic, with Africa and the Middle East emerging as important sources of aftermarket demand. Africa’s MRO market is forecast to grow faster than its fleet, reflecting higher maintenance intensity and an underdeveloped local MRO ecosystem that creates opportunities for capacity expansion and localization. In contrast, the Middle East’s opportunity is driven by rapid fleet growth, high aircraft utilization, long-haul connectivity, and a widebody-heavy fleet, supporting demand for engine, component, and heavy-maintenance services. While North America and Europe remain the largest established MRO markets, global engine manufacturers, component specialists, and MRO providers can capture growth from these expanding regions through proprietary technology, aftermarket parts, repair capabilities and recurring service agreements. The investment opportunity is therefore selective: favoring established aftermarket leaders positioned to monetize the growing installed base, rather than relying solely on direct exposure to regional airlines.
